About us-
Our Story
Welcome to The Dance School LA, where dance and passion converge to create a space of joy, growth, and community. I'm Carissa Songhorian, the founder of this cherished studio, and I'm thrilled to share our story with you.
In the heart of January 2021, amid the challenges of a global pandemic, The Dance School LA came to life as a beacon of hope and creativity. Despite the uncertainty, we believed that dance could bring comfort and connection during these trying times. Our journey began during a period of adversity, but it was fueled by a lifelong dream that I've nurtured since I was just ten years old.
From those early years, I found solace in the world of dance. I remember creating makeshift dance studios in open spaces, inviting friends to join me in the enchanting realm of movement. Back then, I realized the power of dance to uplift spirits, build friendships, and create moments of shared joy. It was in those moments that my desire to own a dance studio took root.
The idea of owning a studio stayed with me as I grew, and in January 2021, that dream became a reality as an online studio. Then, in June of 2023, The Dance School LA was born not just as a physical space for dance, but as a haven where dreams take flight and bonds are formed. It's a place where I can finally bring my childhood vision to life, teaching and guiding dancers of all ages and backgrounds.
For me, dance has always been about more than just movement. It's about touching lives, sharing experiences, and igniting passions. The Dance School LA is a manifestation of that love for dance and the joy it brings. Every class, every interaction, and every smile shared within these walls reaffirms that this is where I'm meant to be.
The Dance School LA isn't just a business; it's my heart and soul. It's a reflection of my childhood aspirations and the embodiment of the warmth and encouragement that dance can provide. It's a community where individuals come together to learn, grow, and support each other through the art of movement.
As you step into The Dance School LA, whether it's your first class or you're a seasoned dancer, know that you're stepping into my dream, my passion, and my happy place. I invite you to join us on this beautiful journey of dance, camaraderie, and self-discovery.
With gratitude and excitement,
Carissa Songhorian
