Teaching assistant (TA) scholarship program

Interested in building yourself as a dancer and a leader? Then this is the program for you! The Dance School LA's Teaching Assistant Scholarship Program offers one-on-one training where students learn how to improve on their communication and leadership skills (all important for a successful future career), as well as their dance skills and technique. Eligible students assist two classes per week and receive not only all of the amazing and priceless opportunities above, but they also receive a free class if they meet certain requirements, including: consistently assisting weekly dance classes as well as meeting a minimum class requirement.

Every year, the Director of The Dance School LA selects one to two lucky applicants for our Teaching Assistant Scholarship Program.

Applicants must:

1. Have at least one year of dance experience at The Dance School LA.

2. Be taking at least 4 regular classes weekly (of paid tuition).

3. Demonstrate the highest standard of decorum and conduct at the studio.

4. And be in good standing at The Dance School LA.

Please Note: As spots are limited for this Program, selected awardees may change from year to year. Please be sure to reapply by July 1st every year in order to be considered. Students whose application is received past July 1st will be not be considered for the upcoming season. Please Note: It is a requirement that students enroll in at least 4 paid classes per week in order to be considered for the 1 free class. (4 paid classes + 1 free class = 5 enrolled classes total with 2 TA Classes). If a student is enrolled in more paid classes per week, they will not be eligible for another free class unless they meet the requirement of 9 paid classes per week. If students reach this requirement and would like to take another free class, they must assist two additional classes per week on top of their original TA classes. (9 paid classes + 2 free classes = 11 enrolled classes total with 4 TA classes.)

I understand that my eligibility and enrollment in the program can be revoked in extreme cases, including, but not limited to: inappropriate behavior or behavior not consistent with The Dance School LA’s Code of Conduct Policy, not appearing to scheduled classes, not informing the studio of any missed TA classes ahead of time, dropping and lowering my paid classes from the required minimum amounts, etc.
